How the work actually runs.
What happens to your requisition, on what schedule, and who is accountable when it stalls.
Six facts, verified before you see anyone.
Six things we confirm about every candidate before they reach your inbox.
-
Job title
They have held this exact job. We ask what the shift actually involved.
-
Tenure
How long they stayed in each role, and the real reason they left.
-
Pay
Their number and your rate are in the same range before anyone spends time interviewing.
-
Shift
They have worked this shift before and will work it again, nights and weekends included.
-
Commute
The drive is one they will still be making in week six. It is the quiet reason most placements fail.
-
Reference
A supervisor who actually managed them, contacted and confirmed.
If we cannot check those boxes, you will not see the candidate.
Your requisition runs on a three-day clock.
From the moment a req is allocated to a vertical team, it is on a timer that the whole team can see.
- Day 0
Allocated
The req goes to the experts who own your industry.
- Daily
Reviewed in the huddle
Every open req is looked at by its team each working morning, on a board built from live data.
- Day 3
Flagged as stuck
If it hasn't moved in three days, the board marks it. Nobody has to remember to escalate.
- Day 4
A director steps in
The Vertical Director takes it and changes the approach. A stalled req stops being one recruiter's problem.
The placement is the start of the obligation.
Every start gets a service call in week one and a service review at thirty days.
In return we ask for a real requisition and interview slots within 48 hours of a submittal. Fast feedback is most of what fills a role.
After a start
The words we use
You will hear these on every call with us. Here is what they mean.
- Req
- Your requisition. The opening as a record, with a shift, a line, a headcount, and a clock running on it.
- Vertical
- One of our four industry teams. The one that knows your kind of plant owns your req from intake to start.
- Submittal
- A candidate we send you. Every submittal has passed all six checks before it reaches your inbox.
- Huddle
- The fifteen-minute meeting every working morning where the team reviews every open req on the board.
- Stuck
- A req that has not moved in three days. The board flags it and a Vertical Director takes it over.
- Start
- The first day your hire is on your floor. For us that is where the service begins, with a call in week one.
Questions plants ask us
What kinds of roles does Helion fill?
Production, skilled trades, and maintenance for manufacturing plants: operators, assembly, material handling, welders, machinists, electricians, millwrights, and multi-craft maintenance technicians. Most of what we place is shift work on the plant floor.
Which industries do you work in?
Four: Industrial Metals, Food & Beverage, Industrial & Automotive, and Consumer & Defense. Each has its own team that works that industry only.
How fast can you fill an opening?
Every requisition is worked daily from the day it is allocated, and it is flagged if it has not moved in three days. Speed depends on the role, the shift, and how quickly you can interview; we ask for interview slots within 48 hours of a submittal.
What do you check before sending a candidate?
Six things on every candidate: job title, tenure, pay, shift, commute, and a supervisor reference. If one does not check out, you do not see the candidate.
Do you staff nights, weekends, and rotating shifts?
Yes. We staff to the shift pattern the plant actually runs, and shift is one of the six facts we verify on every candidate before submittal.
Where are you located?
Headquartered in Nashville, with offices in Atlanta, Chicago, and Louisville. Teams are organised by industry rather than by city, and we place people at plants well beyond those four.
Is this temp, temp-to-hire, or direct hire?
Contract staffing that converts. Our people are on Helion's payroll and billed to you by the hour for as long as you need them. When you want to keep someone, they go direct to you, which is how about one in four of our completed contracts ends. Otherwise they stay with Helion and we place them at the next plant.
What happens after someone starts?
A service call in week one and a service review at thirty days, with one point of contact throughout.
End to end
-
Intake against the real job
We take the req the way the plant lives it: shift, line, environment, physical demands, certifications, and what made the last person leave.
-
The req goes to the vertical that owns it
Four vertical teams, each led by an expert who works one industry only. Your req goes to our experts who already know your kind of floor.
-
Sourced every day
Open reqs are worked every day against live pipeline. Candidates are screened for the environment as well as the skill.
-
Reviewed in a daily huddle
Every open req is looked at by the team each morning: what moved, what is stuck, what needs a different approach. It is a standing meeting.
-
Placed, then watched
Attendance and performance in the first weeks tell us whether we read the role right. That feeds straight back into how we source the next one.
Put a req against it.
Send us the opening. You'll hear back from the expert who owns your industry.
